11 Big Predictions for the End of "Game of Thrones," Made by A.I.
The hive-mind predicts what lies ahead in Westeros.
Game of Thrones has just one season left, but there are still so, so many questions still unanswered. Who will sit atop the Iron Throne when all is said and done? Could Bran Stark be the Night King? Is Cersei Lannister really pregnant? Will Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and, well, pretty much everyone else live or die?
There’s no way to know for sure until the show airs its final season sometime in 2018 or 2019, but until then, we can make some savvy predictions, thanks to our very own hive-mind of Game of Thrones fans.
Inverse partnered with Unanimous A.I. to pose 11 questions to a swarm of readers. This use of so-called swarm intelligence has produced some scarily accurate results in the past, so let’s take a quick look at how it works. As you can see in the animation below, each participant controlled a little golden magnet and used it to drag the puck toward the answer they thought was the most likely outcome. Also, the closer a user puts the magnet to the puck, the greater the pulling force. This is where our swarm of users began to form a hive-mind. As the user sees the puck move toward an outcome, it triggers a psychological response. The user starts to readjust their decision-making, building toward a consensus.

There are a bunch of predictions to work through, and we’ve broken them into a few different posts. Here’s the rundown.
The question of who lives and who dies forever hangs over Game of Thrones. In Cersei Lannister’s case, it barely seemed worth considering the possibility of her survival, skipping ahead to the question of who will do her in, but the survival of others is a bit more of an open question.
One character who has already died yet could always do so again is Jon Snow, though that’s hardly the only big unanswered question surrounding the latest King in the North.
There are some wild fan theories out there, none crazier than the “Bran is somehow the Night King” theory. Does our swarm buy it? We put that and a couple other crazy theories to the test.
The toughest question the swarm faced was the matter of Tyrion’s survival. The decision was so agonizingly tough we asked the folks at Unanimous A.I. to help explain it to us.
