Valerie Ettenhofer

Valerie Ettenhofer is a Glasgow-based pop culture critic and essayist whose work can be found on sites like Slashfilm, IGN, The Playlist, and Dread Central. She studied English and film at Saint Mary’s College of California, spent several years as the head TV critic at Film School Rejects, and wrote an essay about the movie Pig for the 2023 essay book Sad Happens. She’s also a member of the Critics Choice TV and documentary branches, as well as the LGBTQ+ critics’ circle GALECA.

When she’s not watching and writing about good TV, Valerie can be found gardening, cooking, playing Pokemon Go like it’s 2016, and taste-testing every mac and cheese in Scotland, where she immigrated from the States this year.
