Laurel Mellin

Laurel Mellin, Ph.D. is a health psychologist and an Associate Professor Emeritus of Family and Community Medicine and Pediatrics at UCSF. She is the founder of Emotional Brain Training (EBT) and the Brain Based Health (BBH) Movement. Her mission is to equip people with the tools to stress-protect themselves, rebooting their brain for the high-stress times in which we live, for the prevention and treatment of emotional and physical health problems and to optimize well-being. Dr. Mellin is a New York Times bestselling author. Her most recent books on the method are: The Stress Vaccine (June 22, 2020), What's My Number? (2020), The Stress Overload Solution (2019), and The Stress Eating Solution (2019). She teaches courses in EBT at the University of California and advises corporations and universities on preventing toxic stress. Her organization provides certification training (ebtgoups.org) in EBT for first responders, health professionals, and educators to implement EBT in their work. Dr. Mellin's online platform includes an app (Brain Based Health by EBT) and remote services in the method, including 30-day "brain resets" to rapidly learn EBT, e-learning, weekly telegroups and concierge coaching.
