Crazy Map Shows Everyone’s Travels in Game of Thrones Season 7

It may have taken a while for winter to finally come to Westeros, but now that it’s here, the seventh season of Game of Thrones has wasted no time. Journeys that took several episodes in prior seasons take mere minutes in Season 7 — because dwelling on travel is now as out of fashion as wearing pastels in King’s Landing. One enterprising fan on Reddit has made a map plotting out everyone’s Season 7 travel routes. And, jeez, people have gone all over the place in just three episodes.

Sketched out on paper, it looks even more improbable that Euron Greyjoy and Daenerys Targaryen’s fleets did not meet in the water. King’s Landing and Dragonstone are closer than you think, and the ships traveled nearly the same route. The timing was, evidently, very precise — or else the flexible timeline the show operates on was doing some serious work.

The map also illustrates that Arya was far closer to King’s Landing than she was to Winterfell when she decided to turn around and head north. Her decision might have happened on the spot, when Hot Pie informed her that Jon was King in the North. But it was still quite a commitment, as her travel distance indicates.

Not every journey is represented on the map, though. Eastwatch-by-the-Sea is just to the right of Castle Black on the map, so you can draw another imaginary line from Winterfell to Eastwatch on behalf of Tormund and the Free Folk, as Jon sent them in that direction in the Season 7 premiere. Sandor Clegane and the Brotherhood Without Banners are also heading to Eastwatch, though we haven’t seen them since they were in the Riverlands in the season premiere.

Here’s the map:
