RJ Cyler Is the New Blue Ranger in 2017's 'Power Rangers'
The new teenager with attitude previously starred in 'Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.'
The team is almost assembled. Today, on the official Power Rangers Instagram account, actor RJ Cyler (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) has been cast as the Blue Ranger in Dean Israelite’s movie adaptation of the ‘90s kids’ TV series.
This week alone saw the announcements of the Red and Black Rangers: Dacre Montgomery will suit up as the team’s Red Ranger, the team leader, and Ludi Lin will be the Black Ranger. Earlier this month saw the team’s first recruitment, actress Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger.
The only Power Ranger left to be identified is the Yellow Ranger. Who will be the one to possess “lightning hands and a peaceful soul,” as Zordon described her in the original pilot?
Power Rangers will be released January 13, 2017. It is being directed by Dean Israelite with a script by Thor and X-Men: First Class writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz.
