Iron Man may have suited up in his Hulkbuster armor to stop a rampage from the Hulk on the big screen in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but Thomas DePetrillo and the cosplay wizards at Extreme Costumes have put together a real-life 9-foot-tall Hulkbuster suit to wear. Befitting a thing with “Hulk” in its name, it looks incredible.

In the video DePetrillo says he started work on the suit more than two years ago, and will look to debut the suit at this year’s New York Comic-Con. DePetrillo and Extreme Costumes have previously brought to life an epic-looking mech suit and even a suit of Bumblebee from Transformers. But those were just a dry run for the Iron Man suit, which is also over 6 feet wide and 44 inches thick. DePetrillo says it’s the biggest and most complex suit he’s built.

In short, this thing is huge, and if you see DePetrillo busting through NY Comic-Con be sure to make way. It makes you wonder why Marvel just doesn’t sign these guys up to work on Avengers 3 to add some practical effects in there with all the CGI craziness. He definitely gets our vote of confidence.
