'Rick and Morty' Season 4 live stream: Where and how to watch new episodes

It depends on the country.

by Corey Plante

After being off the air for more than two full years, Rick and Morty returned Sunday night with the Season 4 premiere, but what’s the best way to watch? The obvious answer is to catch it on live TV with a cable subscription tuned in to Cartoon Network right at 11:30 p.m. Eastern when the episode airs, but in the digital age things get much more complicated — especially for international fans outside the United States.

A helpful Reddit post on the Rick and Morty subreddit outlines where and how fans around the world can watch each Season 4 episode, and where you can purchase individual episodes on services like Amazon or iTunes after they premiere.

In Great Britain, Thanks to a licensing deal between the UK’s Channel 4 and Turner Broadcasting earlier this year, Channel 4 will be the exclusive network to watch new episodes. Originally, Season 4 was slated to premiere in January 2020, but after some fan backlash, that date was moved up to November 20, as revealed in a November 11 tweet. Rick and Morty Seasons 1 through 3 are available to stream on Netflix, whereas in the United States, the three seasons are available via Hulu.

Outside of all that, how can fans watch the new season?

Adult Swim

Adult Swim website or app stream

The most straightforward way to stream Rick and Morty Season 4 episodes is directly on the show’s page on the Adult Swim website or via the Adult Swim app for iOS, Android, Roku, Fire TV, or Apple TV.

Through either means, new Rick and Morty episodes will be available to stream as soon as they begin airing on Adult Swim at 11:30 p.m. Eastern on Sunday nights. New episodes will be available to stream without a cable subscription, but at some point in the future, you’ll need to login to the Adult Swim site using a valid cable subscription to watch episodes.

If you’re outside the U.S., you might need to a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to stream the show. We’ve seen success using Hola VPN, but there are many different services out there that trick your browser into thinking you’re in the United States when you’re not.

How to watch Rick and Morty Season 4 with a live TV app

Most non-cable live-TV streaming subscription services include Cartoon Network as part of the standard packages, and that obviously includes Adult Swim programming. In some cases, you can even watch new Rick and Morty episodes on demand after they air.

These services include AT&T TV Now, Hulu with Live TV (standard Hulu won’t have new episodes — at least until after Season 4 finishes airing), FuboTV, Sling TV, or YouTube TV. If you’re not sure which to pick, know that FuboTV allows you to watch episodes on-demand after they air.
