We’re now within two months of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’s release, and the final trailer is about to bring all the hype. How can you be one of the first to watch it? Here’s all that and more.

On Saturday, the official Star Wars Twitter account confirmed our prediction from early September that the final trailer for The Rise of Skywalker would release during Monday Night Football on October 21, which also happens to be Carrie Fisher’s birthday.

The New York Jets will host the New England Patriots starting at 8:15 p.m. Eastern. At some point during the game, the new trailer will debut for the first time.

On what channel will the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer air?

ESPN will show the trailer during Monday Night Football on October 21. The official Star Wars Twitter account confirmed the rumor on October 19.

How can you stream Monday Night Football?

To watch the Star Wars Rise of Skywalker trailer on ESPN, you need an ESPN cable subscription. ESPN+ will not work.

If you don’t have ESPN, you can set up a trial account for a live-streaming service like Hulu Live, Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, AT&T TV Now, or YouTube TV. All have ESPN coverage included, but there’s no guarantee that the ads will be the same as broadcast TV. In most cases, the service will filter out the local ads with a loading screen and input service-specific ads at other times.

In short, there’s no guarantee that a streaming broadcast of the game will include the trailer. It may be wiser to visit a friend’s house or some public place with cable.

When will the final Rise of Skywalker trailer air?

The official start time for the game is at 8:15 p.m. Eastern, with TV coverage beginning early at 8 p.m. Theoretically, the trailer could air at any point during the broadcast until we hear otherwise, but we have an educated guess about when to expect it.

Two years ago, before the final trailer for The Last Jedi aired during Monday Night Football on October 9, ESPN shared a video ahead of time confirming the trailer would air during halftime. That might also be the case this time around. The whole broadcast could take place anywhere between three and four hours, which means halftime could happen any time between 9:45 and 10:15 p.m. Eastern. So if you’re looking for a specific timeframe to tune in for the trailer, that’s it.

When will Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker tickets go on sale?

Entertainment Weekly reports, concurring with most assumptions, that tickets for The Rise of Skywalker will go on sale immediately after the trailer airs.

For those looking to grab tickets ASAP, it’s best to settle in to watch Monday Night Football with a browser open to your preferred ticketing service, because prime opening night showings in busy areas are likely to sell out fast.

When will the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer be on YouTube?

Disney always publishes new trailers to their corresponding YouTube channels immediately after they air. The videos page on the official Star Wars YouTube channel is the best place to check, but it’ll also replace the featured video on the Star Wars YouTube homepage as well.

In most cases, versions will also publish on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram on the appropriate accounts. Here’s a quick rundown of where to check in the minutes after the trailer airs during Monday Night Football:

There will definitely be some kind of delay between the TV broadcast of the trailer and the trailer going live on all of these accounts, so if you want to see it first, we suggest tuning in.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be released in theaters December 20, 2019.
