While a majority of people buying new 4K TV likely have the intention of using it to stream video or connect other video peripherals to it, there’s another large segment that one could say is more demanding of their TVs: Gamers. Luckily, this is a demographic that’s served fairly well these days, and it’s somewhat hard to get a “bad” gaming TV. That said, some stand out from the pack as truly special for gaming: here are four of the best 4K TVs for gaming you can get today.

The OLED Option: LG C9

While advancements in LED technology have been making changes in the TV industry, nothing has been able to dethrone to ultra crisp picture of OLED panels. As such, one of the best gaming TVs you can grab today uses this technology, and it (unsurprisingly) comes from LG.

The C9 is essentially the 2019 flagship model of LG’s 2019 OLED TVs. You can grab the B9 for a little cheaper and the E9 for quite a bit more, but for the features you get, the C9 is where a lot of people will find their happy place (and price).

Featuring Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR10 and HLG formats, it’s got you covered in terms of HDR. It also ships with the expect smart features like Alexa or Google Assistant smarts with the WebOS smart software, and of course, a dedicated gaming mode for low-lag gameplay.

The QLED Choice: Samsung Q70

If you don’t mind foregoing an OLED panel in favor of a large display for a similar price, you can find that within LED TVs. Not only that, you can find that within OLED most mature competitor, QLED, with Samsung leading the charge.

The Samsung Q70 offers a gorgeous picture and is great for gaming, thanks to its Real Game Enhancer and FreeSync support. The TV also ships with some of the brand’s ultra premium features, like the Quantum processor 4K and Quantum HDR. Of course, this is alongside the more common smart features you’d expect on a TV of this kind. HDR, 4K upscaling, and a ton of streaming apps, and smart assistant are all a part of the package.

A Seriously Quality LED: Sony X950G

If you’re looking to save a little money but still have a moderate budget, the Sony X950G is a very nice option for gaming. Spec for spec, we’d have to go with the Samsung above it, but if you prefer to use something other than Bixby as a smart assistant (and a lot of people do), Sony’s the way to go.

Shipping with Android TV, the X950G offers up a clean and modern UI that’s a lot better than what you’ll find on some of the competitors out there. And because it’s running Android TV, you’ll also have access to the Google Play Store and a wide array of apps to take advantage of.

Spec-wise, the X950G delivers. Sony’s Triluminos Display and 4K HDR Super Bit Mapping will make your games shine while the X1 Ultimate runs the show in the background, so everything is smooth sailing.

The Best Budget Buy: TCL 55R617

All of the TVs above will run you over $1,000, but we didn’t forget about those of you on a budget. Luckily, the TCL 55R617 certainly doesn’t feel like a budget TV, thanks to what you get from it.

The TV’s own Amazon page boasts an immersive gaming experience thanks to its low-lag gameplay, dark shadows, and bright highlights. You’ll also enjoy using it when you’re not gaming, too, thanks to the pre-installed Roku TV OS, which has hundreds of channels you can install so you always have something to watch.

While it the set lacks some fancier features like Dolby Atmos, it does ship with Dolby Vision and additional HDR formats.
