Let me be honest: I am not a gamer. I can’t wax poetic about Fortnite, I never spent time trying to rescue Zelda, and the only thing I can say about Mario Kart is that I always fell off those terrifying roads in the sky. Even Guitar Hero, arguably less visual than most video games, was never my jam. I will say that I did have (and do currently miss) my silver GameBoy. It will forever be better than any app games on my iPhone.

All that being said, I’m a huge nerd about tech, and know how important screen quality is to the gaming experience.

When shopping for a gaming television, the screen quality is a big part of what makes or breaks a gaming T.V. You want to look for T.V.s with great lighting quality, such as LED lights, which are small dots that illuminate the screen panel and tend to give greater color range, depth, and clarity. To connect, the more ports, the better; multiple HDMI, USB, Ethernet, and other cables are a must to connect to your gaming universe. Other, newer features are AI voice control settings, such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home compatibility.

To understand which T.V. will help you crush your gaming experience, read below for Inverse’s top picks!

The patented Sony TRILUMINOS display gives you even more vibrancy in colors and crisp game action with its X-Motion Clarity technology. What makes it even better? If You Need Great Color & Maximum Connection

If you’re serious about your gaming experience, the Lg OLED is a must. Created with superb AI technology, ThinQ is preinstalled with Google Assistant, so you can control compatible smart home devices (like the Amazon Alexa) using just your voice through the LG Magic Remote. It has an α9 Intelligent Processor inside the LG OLED TV as well, which noticeably enhances sharpness and depth while delivering vastly more accurate colors, for the ultimate in picture quality. It additionally screens in Pixel Level Dimming enables each of the 8.3 million individually lit pixels to brighten, dim or power off completely, achieving perfect black and displaying a level of picture detail impossible with any other television technology. No skimping on inputs with up to 4 HDMI and 3 USB access ports, among others. On top of advanced tone-mapping technology for optimal viewing, it comes with Dolby Atmos cinema-quality immersive sound that appears to come from everywhere, “putting you in the middle of all the excitement,” as it were.

If You Have A Small Living Space

It may be smaller, but still packs the same punch as other LG T.V.s. Meet the 43 inch LG. Armed with the same 4K Ultra HD resolution and powered by a 3840 x 2160 IPS LED panel. The same patented TruMotion technology keeps you gaming visuals pristine, and you’ll enjoy built-in Wi-Fi & Ethernet connectivity. You’ll also be able to access the LG content store to shop for apps, as well as full web browsing capabilities.
