'Avengers: Endgame' Deleted Scene Reveals Thor and Rocket's Unseen Bonding
See it for yourself.
Avengers: Endgame showed us a new side of both Thor and Rocket Raccoon. The God of Thunder struggled with depression after failing to stop Thanos, while Rocket dealt with the loss of his friends. Teaming the two characters up for the movie’s epic “Time Heist” allowed them to support each other, and a deleted scene shared on Twitter reveals a bit of “bonding” that went missing from the movie’s final cut.
You can watch the minute-long scene here, but here’s a breakdown of what happens:
Rocket walks in on Thor peeing off a balcony in Asgard
Rocket: “I’d say I want to claw my eyes out, but unfortunately it wouldn’t do anything because I already saw the awfulness. Can you focus?”
Thor: “I am focused.”
Rocket: “This pretty place is about to get uglified by a bunch of freakin elves.”
Thor: “I saw all these people die. So why don’t you reach down deep inside and try to find a small ounce of humanity. [Mocking rocket] “Just give me the thing, just give me the thing.”
Rocket: “Get it together. You’re embarrassing yourself. Alright, which way?”
Thor: “I don’t know.”
Rocket: “You don’t know? You used to freaking live here!”
Thor: “For 1,500 years, not forever. That way I think, yeah maybe.”
Rocket: “We are dead. We are so so dead.”
At that point the scene ends. it’s unclear exactly when this takes place, but we’re guessing it’s right at the beginning of Thor and Rocket’s trip back in time to recover the Reality Stone from Jane Foster on Asgard. Either way, this scene certainly shows a bit of unintended bonding between Rocket and Thor as the two struggle to work together to save the world.
Avengers: Endgame releases on digital HD on July 30th, and on Blu-ray and DVD on August 13.
