'Fortnite' Dance Between Ice Sculptures, Dinosaurs, Hot Springs: Locations

Dance like nobody's watching ... and waiting to eliminate you.

by Corey Plante

With Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 8, Week 9 dancing has become the most important thing in the game yet again. Week 9 officially began Thursday morning, and with it came a multi-stage challenge with plenty of dancing.

This time around, you have to dance between three different landmark clusters in very different parts of the map. First, you have to “dance between three ice sculptures,” then there’s “dance between three dinosaurs,” and finally “dance between four hot springs.” The ice sculptures and dinosaurs have both been around since at least the start of Season 7, so hot springs might be the only landmark that players might not be very familiar with. Thankfully, that’s the easiest step to complete.

Remember: As with all multi-stage challenges, each step has to be completed in a different match. Here’s everything you need to know in order to complete every step of this challenge, including a map and video guide (at the top of this article).

Here are all three "dance between" locations players need to know for the Week 9 challenge.

They’re ice sculptures, so these landmarks are obviously somewhere in the snowy quadrant of the map. The exact location is directly east of Frosty Flights and southwest of Polar Peak. There’s a small cluster of trees with three ice statues posing.

You might remember this exact location as where the magnifying glass sit on the treasure map loading screen for the Season 8, Week 3 challenge more than a month ago. Anywhere inside that tight formation of statues counts, but there’s a chest spawn nearby, so enemies will likely gun down anyone who gets there too late at the start of a match.

The three dinosaurs are in the southeastern area of the map, so you'll have to dance in the street like nobody's watching.

By now, everybody knows that the dinosaurs live in the desert. The exact location is in the far southeastern area of the map, directly south of Paradise Palms proper, right where the main road running east and west curves north. Two dinosaurs are south of the road and one of them north, so everyone pretty much has to dance in the middle of the street.

The hot springs are those newer ponds north of the volcano.

Since substantial geological activity caused a volcano to erupt into existence at the start of Season 8, the northeast quadrant of the map has looked very different. Part of those changes included a small cluster of hot springs located northwest of the volcano, directly east a ways from the Block, and northeast of Lazy Lagoon.

An important note here: Another Week 9 challenge has you “ride 3 different volcano vents without landing,” and there’s no better place to do that than right in this cluster of hot springs where there are many volcano vents.

There you have it. Barring any rude assaults from enemies, this challenge should take only a few minutes to complete in three separate matches.

According to the in-game countdown, Fortnite Season 8 should end on Wednesday, May 8. So it’s entirely possible that Season 9 could begin on Thursday, May 9. Either way, there isn’t much time left to complete these and other challenges.

Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 8, Week 10 — the last in Season 8 — should begin Thursday, May 2 around 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
