'Fortnite' Vending Machines: Locations and Map for the Week 8 Challenge

Don't forget about the radical changes to them earlier this season.

by Corey Plante

Vending Machines in the world of Fortnite: Battle Royale are nothing new. Like vehicles and chests, they have many different potential spawn points across the map, but there’s no guarantee that they’ll appear. One particular task added Thursday morning as part of the Season 8, Week 8 lineup of challenges has players “use Vending Machines in different matches,” specifically in three separate matches.

Completing this challenge would be much more difficult if Vending Machines had remained in their original form, requiring that you spend building materials to purchase items. But recall that Vending Machines got a significant rework as part of the version 8.10 update, the same patch that introduced the Baller.

“These convenient machines now dispense things free of charge but only provide one item/weapon before disappearing,” the update reads. There’s no longer any material cost, the machines self-destruct upon a single usage, and they only dispense rare or better items. As such, a better strategy is to land directly at a Vending Machine in a remote location right at the start of a match, and then go on your merry way.

Here's the location of every known Vending Machine spawn.

There are a lot of possible Vending Machine locations across the map, but because they self-destruct upon a single use now, the longer a match goes on, the less likely a Vending Machine will remain. You ought to just dedicate three matches in quick succession to completing this challenge rather than let it simmer until the end of the season.

According to the in-game countdown, Fortnite Season 8 should end on Wednesday, May 8. So it’s entirely possible that Season 9 could begin on Thursday, May 9. Either way, there are only a few weeks left for you to complete this and other challenges.

Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 8, Week 9 should begin Thursday, April 25 around 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
