'Fortnite's Furthest North, South, East, and West Points: Location and Map

This one's more challenging than it sounds.

It’s time for Fortnite: Battle Royale players to go to West Point … except not really. One of the new challenges unlocked Thursday morning as part of Fortnite Season 8, Week 2 has players “visit the furthest north, south, east, and west points of the island.” For the most part, this challenge is very easy and straightforward — just look at the map and determine which locations are the furthest to the top, bottom, right, and left.

But in all four cases, it kind of looks like several points on the coast reach the same exact distance, so we’re here to provide some tips about the locations, a video, and a map pinpointing the exact spots to look for.

For each of the four locations, look for a short sign indicating N, S, E, or W accompanied by a compass-looking symbol. There’s usually a rock formation surrounding the spot and even a winding dirt path leading directly there, so even from the sky, they should be easy to pinpoint.

Here's where to find the furthest North, South, East, and West points on the 'Fortnite' Map.

Inverse / Epic Games
  • Furthest North — Northeast of Junk Junction, a winding dirt path leads to the edge of the cliff, and on both sides is a single tree with a cluster of rocks.
  • Furthest South — South of Lucky Landing, roughly in between the giant pig structure and a small shrine.
  • Furthest East — Just southeast of the decrepit former superhero mansion, which is northeast of the race track, the grass slopes downward towards the sea, leading to several piles of rocks.
  • Furthest West — Directly west of Snobby Shores, a dirt path cuts through the grass leading to the cliff, encircled by an outcropping of trees.

These four locations are, quite literally, as far apart as you can possibly get on the Fortnite island, so there’s really no hope of visiting multiple destinations in a single match. The best method here, which we used across four matches, is to land at the one closest to where the battle bus starts and play recklessly so the match ends quickly.

Another thing to consider is the other Week 2 challenge to deal damage with pirate cannons. If players survive, they might as well move towards nearby Pirate Camps in the hopes of working on that challenge.

Based on the in-game countdown to the end of Season 8, players have until Wednesday, May 8 to complete this and other challenges.

Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 8, Week 3 should begin the morning of Thursday, March 14.
