'Fortnite' Week 10 Secret Battle Star Location Leads to a Hidden Banner
Discovery continues with a new loading screen.
by Corey PlanteFortnite: Battle Royale Season 8’s Week 2 round of challenges released Thursday morning, and with them comes a new Discovery loading screen and an accompanying prize. True to previous seasons, the even-numbered weeks feature a hidden banner instead of a secret battle star.
Similar to Snowfall in Season 7, Discovery awards any player who completes all seven weekly challenges with a secret loading screen leading to a battle star or hidden banner. Doing all of this is a lot of work, but for the most dedicated Fortnite players, it’s essential.
Week 2 challenges have players deal damage with Pirate Cannons and visit the furthest north, south, east, and west points on the island, along with another five.
Completing all seven challenges unlocks a loading screen that features three different stages of the Hybrid outfit blasting out of the volcano. As such, the location featured here should be really obvious almost immediately: It’s inside the volcano.
The standard red Hybrid is front-and-center, and the two on either side of him look more dragon-like. In the far background, the Prisoner (are we calling him Fire King yet?) stands next to his fiery throne, and on the left is the symbol of a hidden banner with a dragon-snake on it.
Players will have to enter the volcano, which is easier said than done. If you dive straight into the crater, hot air just blasts you skyward. The only way in is to skydive through the western crack in the volcano and hug the left wall without using your glider. It’s very easy to just get shot back up into the air, so it might take a few tries to get it right.
For anyone that needs specific guidance, the video at the top of this article from YouTuber garandhero offers a succinct and very clear demonstration. (Be sure to check out his YouTube page for even more Fortnite videos).
Here’s a map that will also help.
Unlike Snowfall, with Discovery players can complete all the challenges from any week to unlock the next loading screen and therefore the secret prize. Before, specific challenge sets corresponded to particular loading screens. The difference here hardly matters for the more hardcore players, but for anyone who waits until the end of the season to complete all their challenges and get the loading screen prizes, the whole process has become just a little bit easier.
Based on the in-game countdown to the end of Season 8, players have until Wednesday, May 8 to complete this and other challenges.
Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 8, Week 3 should begin the morning of Thursday, March 14.
