'Fortnite' Season 8 Battle Pass Overview: Skins, Pets, and Other Cosmetics

Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 8 is here, and that means a fresh Battle Pass and all the new skins and other cosmetic extras that come with it. The Season 8 Battle Pass leans somewhat into Fortnite’s new pirate theme, but, as usual, it’s also all over the place with plenty of wacky new items to unlock. Here’s everything you need to know about the Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass.

How Much Does the Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass Cost?

As always, Epic Games is charging 950 V-Bucks for the pass, which comes out to just under $10 in real-world currency. By now, though, regular Fortnite players will likely have mastered the art of getting a free Battle Pass by completing challenges in the previous season. Epic even offered special Overtime Challenges at the end of Season 7 for specifically that purpose. So chances are if you were paying attention, you won’t have to pay for a Season 8 Battle Pass.

What Are theFortnite Season 8 Battle Pass Skins?

Buying the Battle Pass will automatically unlock two progressive skins that will become increasingly complex as you make your way through Fortnite Season 8. First up is Blackheart, a standard-looking pirate who becomes increasingly menacing over time.

There’s also Hybrid, who starts off as a ninja and becomes some sort of snake-man as you progress.

Purchasing the Battle Pass Bundle will also give you a jump start on the Season 8 tier list and unlock Sidewinder, a new female cowboy/explorer skin, automatically.

At tier 47, you’ll unlock Peely, a literal living banana. Let the memes commence.

Tier 71 unlocks a new night elf-style character. Tier 87 gets you a Master Key, an anime-inspired ninja who gets a dragon mask at Tier 99. Finally, at Tier 100, you’ll unlock Luxe, the first female skin to claim that coveted spot.

What Other New Cosmetics Are in the Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass?

Beyond skins, you can also unlock new pets, including what looks like an adorable fox wearing ski goggles. There’s also new wraps that customize the look of guns and vehicles you find in the game.

At Tier 79, you’ll unlock a cool pirate-themed glider. Also, at Tier 55, you’ll get an interesting new pickaxe design if you’re sick of the one you’re currently using.
