'Fortnite' Week 8 Secret Battle Star Location Leads to a Hidden Banner

A remote destination somehow easy to spot in the snow.

The Ice King cometh! Now that the entire Fortnite map is covered in ice and snow, the Ice King continues to be the star of each week’s Snowfall loading screen, which sometimes leads to a secret battle star. Week 7 showed him on his throne, and for Week 8 we see him actively summoning the ice storm.

Week 8 began Thursday morning and for anyone looking to hunt down the secret Snowfall banner, we’ve got all the information right here, including a video guide from YouTuber garandhero. (Be sure to check out his YouTube page for even more Fortnite videos).

Once players complete all seven Week 8 challenges — including “search between a mysterious hatch, a giant rock lady, and a precarious flatbed” — they unlock this week’s Snowfall loading screen, along with the clue it contains.

This week’s clue is a little tough to notice, and it’s also harder to decipher than most weeks. It’s a good thing you wound up here, right?

The clue for the hidden banner in the Snowfall Week 8 loading screen has coordinates.

The clue in front of the Ice King on the castle’s ramparts looks like a banner with four coordinates: A8, B8, A9, B9.

Just like in Season 6, Week 10, these are coordinates leading to a very specific destination. This clue translates to a specific intersection on the Fortnite map at the exact middle point between four squares in the southwestern wintery zone.

But these days, of course, the whole map is a wintery zone.

Here's where to find the hidden banner for the Snowfall challenge in Week 8.

The location is directly south of Frosty Flights on the western side of the map, and players should be able to find it easily by aiming right for the intersection teased by the loading screen.

Similar to locations for “search between” challenges, this particular location is demarcated by an irregularity on the ground. Rather than a patch of dirt interrupting grass, it’s a dark spot on the pristine snow that looks almost like a bruise.

The specific location looks like a large bruise in the snow, similar to various patches of dirt that house similar items.

This particular hidden banner winds up being one of the easiest to find as a result.

The in-game countdown says that Fortnite Season 7 doesn’t end until February 27, 2019. So players have roughly a month to complete this and other challenges before Season 8 is upon us, bringing all sorts of new map changes and challenges with it.

Here’s an in-depth look at everything included in the Fortnite Season 7 Premium Battle Pass.
