'Aquaman' Post-Credits Scene: Does It Have One? Here's a Spoiler-Free Guide

Here's what you need to know heading into the latest DC movie.

Aquaman is set to hit theaters this week (watch our spoiler-free review above), but there’s one big question on the mind of any superhero fan planning to check out the latest DCEU outing: Does it have a post-credits scene? And is it worth sticking around after the credits to find out?

If you’re struggling with the same questions, here’s everything you need to know about what happens after the credits roll on Aquaman. Don’t worry, there’s absolutely zero spoilers ahead, though will have a spoiler-packed recap coming later this week.

So, does Aquaman have a post-credits scene? The answer is an emphatic yes. Shortly after the credits begin to role, the movie cuts to one final scene. We won’t say what happens, but it manages to provide a little extra closure while also setting up the premise of Aquaman 2 — assuming a sequel happens at all, of course.

However, if you’re expecting a second post-credits scene at the very end you’re out of luck. There’s no final teaser. No Marvel-style shot that sets up the next movie in the franchise. No clip of Wonder Woman waking up in 1984 or video of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker prancing through Gotham city. Instead, the movie just ends.

Considering the current state of the DCEU that shouldn’t exactly come as a surprise. It’s unclear where DC’s cinematic universe is headed next, and it seems likely that a reboot could be in the works now that Batman and Superman are both potentially set to be recast.

Then again, would it really be so hard to tease of the few upcoming movies that we know for certain exist? In this case, we’re probably just lucky to be getting anything at all.

Aquaman dives into theaters on December 21.
