'Smash Ultimate': How to Unlock Mii Fighters in the New 'Super Smash Bros'

It's easier than you think.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate boasts the biggest roster in the franchise with 74 different characters, and almost all of them can be unlocked by simply playing the game. There’s one exception, however, and it may have some players downright confused. Here’s how to unlock the Mii Fighters in Smash Bros. Ultimate.

As we noted, you can’t simply unlock the Mii Fighters by fighting your friends, playing through Spirit Mode, or completing Classic Mode with various characters. Instead, all you have to do is create them.

First, open the game’s main menu and select Games & More. Then hit Mii Fighters and select Create. You’ll be able to customize how your Mii looks and choose from one of three main variations: Brawler, Gunner, or Swordfighter. Finally, Save your selection and head back to the main menu.

The next time you go to pick a fighter you should see your Mii Fighter show up on alongside Mario, Ridley, and the rest of the game’s lineup. It’s also worth noting that the three different types of Mii Fighters play differently, so you’ll want to create one of each to truly complete your roster.

With that out of the way you’re one step closer to filling out the entire Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, but if you’re still struggling to unlock other characters we have a few other tips and tricks to make it go faster. For one, try focusing on Classic Mode, which guarantees one new challenger each time you complete it with a new character. You can also try hacking the game, and don’t forget to rematch any challengers you lose to on the first try.
