'American Horror Story' Season 8 Spoilers: 3 Huge Theories for Episode 9

There are only two episodes left of American Horror Story: Apocalypse and in these final episodes, the FX series still has several questions that need answering in Season 8. What’s coming in this week’s penultimate episode, here’s what fans on Reddit think after watching the Episode 9 teaser.

Will American Horror Story Season 8 Episode 9 Reveal All About the Cooperative?

In Episode 8, we saw Ms. Venable before she was at the Outpost. She was working for (but ostensibly running) the two men who made Robot Mead for Michael at their robotics company. Now, in the promo (above) for episode 9, she wants answers about the Cooperative.

A screenshot of the promo posted on Reddit by user Evanpetersishot1 reveals a paper with the heading “Messengers” and subheadings “Armed Courier Service” and “Messenger Pigeons.” We’ve seen the Cooperative use messenger pigeons.

The Cooperative is the organization that knew about the nuclear apocalypse that occurred at the beginning of this season of American Horror Story. Not much is known about it, but just like Episode 8 showed Robot Mead’s origin story, perhaps episode 9 will reveal the Cooperative’s history.

Will Michael’s Actions in AHS Season 8 Episode 9 Lead to Cordelia Putting the Identity Spell on Mallory?

In episode 8, Michael swore vengeance on Cordelia and her coven of witches after she killed Mead and locked her soul away where he couldn’t get to it. In the “Fire and Reign” promo, the Antichrist warns someone, “I told Cordelia what I was going to do to all of you.” Will he set out to get his revenge, perhaps urged on by Robot Mead? She encourages him to “do what you were put on this Earth to do: destroy it.” Will he begin doing that by killing a few witches?

Reddit user cookieloverzs shared a theory that explains why certain witches were in hiding at the beginning of the season and others didn’t know who they were.

“While Cordelia, Mallory, Coco, Myrtle, Madison were absent for some unknown reasons, Michael showed up and killed all the fellow witches,” they suggested. “Cordelia felt her girls’ death from afar so she had no choice but put the identity spell on Mallory (presuming she’s the next supreme) and Coco while Cordelia, Madison and Myrtle went into hiding.”

Who’s Attacking Cordelia in AHS Season 8 Episode 9?

Something’s happening to Cordelia in the promo for the next episode, and while it makes sense to assume it’s Michael’s doing, what if he has someone else doing the dirty work for him? A couple users on Reddit suggest that person could be Dinah.

“Michael uses voodoo queen Dinah to track [the witches] down,” user rapzel79 wrote. “She helps in exchange for riches/fame. Dinah may or may not use voodoo magic on the witches.”

User Spazchow expanded on that theory. “I think Dinah is actually the one causing all of the weird ailments that Cordelia is having,” they wrote. “In the preview we get a short flash of her doing her voodoo thing and we know that her and Michael have history. During the interview Michael says Dinah would be perfect for the new world … I feel like attempting to take out the supreme could easily secure her a spot in The Sanctuary.”
