'Fortnite' NFL Celebration: Skins for Your Favorite Team Are Coming Soon

It's the biggest crossover since Thanos.

Soon, any professional football player will be able to fight for survival in Fortnite: Battle Royale. As part of a collaboration with the NFL, Epic Games is introducing NFL outfits to the game, including those for retired players. It’s pretty much the biggest crossover Fortnite has done since Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War joined the fray.

On Monday morning, {Epic Games announced](https://twitter.com/FortniteGame/status/1059460506250084352) and blog post its latest collaboration. Starting on November 9 at 7 p.m. Eastern, Fortnite players will be able to purchase NFL-themed outfits from the in-game Item Shop.

“Each Outfit can be swapped to any of the thirty-two NFL teams, plus an additional unique Fortnite team,” a blog post from Epic Games reads. “You’ll also be able to choose any number from 0-99 to place on your jersey to complete the official NFL look.”

The example provided by Epic Games probably doesn’t feature any specific players, but these specific outfits look like past versions of Brandin Cooks and Brian Griese.

Is that supposed to be Brandin Cooks from when he was on the Patriots last season? And is that Brian Griese from the late '90s when he was a QB for the Broncos?

So not only will Fortnite players be able to play Battle Royale as their favorite current NFL players, but they should be able to recreate almost any player ever. Numbers can be changed but player names will not be added to the backs of any jerseys. So far it’s unclear whether or not players will be able to customize gender and race to make their NFL-Fortnite cosplay dreams even more accurate.

Additionally, Fortnite will also feature NFL-themed emotes and other cosmetic items like gliders and harvesting tools. Maybe even a football toy that has players throw a football in-game?

This NFL celebration feels pretty similar to how Epic Games celebrated the World Cup in June within the world of Fortnite: Battle Royale by adding a soccer stadium to the map and customizable soccer skins shortly thereafter. But whereas those outfits were mere approximations, these NFL skins are officially branded as specific teams, so it’s taking things one step further.

Is it possible that a football stadium might be added to the island at some point in the near future? Totally.

Fortnite NFL cosmetic items will hit the in-game item shop on November 9 at 7 p.m. Eastern.
