Spider-Man Shoots 'Captain America: Civil War'
The screenwriters of the new reboot let slip the details of war.
Just a month after British actor Tom Holland was officially announced as the latest Marvel-approved Spider-Man, and months of fan speculation about when when the Web Slinger might return, the writers of Spidey’s next bigscreen reboot have let slip that we’ll meet their protagonist before we make it to their movie. Spider-Man is confirmed for Captain America: Civil War.
In an interview with Vulture, screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein primarily talked about their new sort of reboot/sort of sequel of the Vacation movies, but, when asked about what’s next, the pair admitted they’re getting a peek at Holland’s already-shot footage of his appearance in Captain America: Civil War. That film is currently in production and being helmed by Winter Soldier and upcoming two-part Avengers threequel directors, Joe and Anthony Russo.
“We hear good things,” Goldstein told Vulture. “We might even get to look at the Spidey suit, which is exciting.”
There it is. Spidey will be in Cap 3, but no word on the extent of the appearance. Will Holland just show up in a cameo walking through a high school hallway as Peter Parker, or will we get a look at his new superhero duds? We’re thinking the latter.
But even Goldstein and Daley aren’t sure. They say they are still throwing around story ideas. “We’ve discussed certain characters,” Daley told Vulture, “but nothing is certain yet, for sure.”
Let the speculation continue.
