'Fortnite' How to Ring a Doorbell: Locations Map and Video Guide
A festive Halloween challenge for Week 4.
by Corey PlanteWith less than two weeks before Halloween, Epic Games is starting to get a little bit more festive with a new Fortnite: Battle Royale Challenge in Week 4. “Ring the doorbell of a house with an opponent inside in different matches” is a very wordy way of telling players to go trick-or-treating.
Fortnite’s Week 4 challenges unlocked Thursday morning, and they include target practice at shooting galleries and dancing on a Clock Tower, Pink Tree, and Porcelain Throne. But this doorbell challenge might be the most difficult — mainly because it’s the most consistently dangerous.
Seemingly introduced as part of the same version 6.10 update that added Quadcrashers to the game, doorbells now exist next to the front door of every residential home on the island, as long as the building is not partially destroyed already. The key is to ring the doorbell while there’s an enemy player inside the house.
Players can technically execute this at one of many locations across the map, but the greatest concentration of houses exist in Snobby Shores, Pleasant Park, Greasy Grove, Salty Springs, and Paradise Palms.
What makes this challenge so dangerous is that it pretty much requires that players land in a popular destination along with tons of other players, all in the hopes that they can ring the doorbell while an enemy is inside a house. Actually ringing the doorbell gives away a player’s position to whoever is inside the house, but because the challenge has to be completed in multiple matches, it’s worth it to focus on just doing this before being eliminated.
The optimal way to accomplish this challenge is to follow a player that lands on the roof of a house in somewhere like Greasy Grove. Wait until they break through into the top floor and then just smash the doorbell button. But note that ringing too many times in quick succession can break the mechanism.
Because this challenge presents such a niche task, we recommend trying to complete it as soon as possible. The conditions necessary for completion are so specific and unpredictable that dedicating three matches to focusing on this in Greasy Grove over and over again is the best approach.
For players that want to sit on this challenge for some time, note that Season 6 should end sometime during the second or third week of December.
