'Avengers 4' Concept Art Has Serious 'Superior Iron Man' Vibes
When the Avengers get their rematch against Thanos in Avengers 4, Iron Man’s upgrades might just make him superior to the Mad Titan.
Alleged leaked concept art of Iron Man’s new armor in next year’s still-untitled Avengers 4 have surfaced on Reddit. Building upon the self-repairing nanotech armor Stark wore in Avengers: Infinity War, the new armor looks just as “bio-tech” but with a new silver and white color scheme.
At first blush, it seems as if the Marvel Cinematic Universe is adapting elements of Superior Iron Man, the 2014 nine-issue series starring a (more than usual) egotistical Tony Stark with super advanced white armor.
In the aftermath of the Marvel crossover AXIS, Tony Stark’s worst personality traits came to the forefront in Superior Iron Man. Stark’s ego, alcoholism, and self-destructive habits make him public enemy numero uno in the Marvel Universe as he forces San Francisco to his will through a new freemium app, Extremis 3.0. Through it all, he wears a new white armored suit with an open face, emphasizing his self-imposed messianic perspective.
The supposed new armor doesn’t leave Stark’s face exposed, nor is it even confirmed if it’s actually Avengers 4 concept art. Actual concept art of Avengers 4 reveal not a lot has changed for Iron Man, as he’s still wearing the MK. 50 armor from his first fight against Thanos.
Avengers 4 will be released on May 3, 2019.
