'Fortnite' Season 6 Leaks: Pets Confirmed! Weapon and Vehicle Skins Rumored
From new skins to... pets?
by Jake KleinmanSeason 6 of Fortnite: Battle Royale is just a few days away, but developer Epic Games has done an impressive job of keeping any big changes coming to the game under wraps. Still, that hasn’t stopped the occasional leaks from trickling out — along with a few official details from Epic — to help give a sense of what’s coming in Fortnite Season 6.
Here’s everything we know (or think we know) so far, as the Fortnite Season 6 release date rapidly approaches.
Fortnite Season 6 Leaks: New skins
When it comes to new skins the leaks have been painfully few and far between. We’d really have no idea what to expect if it weren’t for a pair of tweets shared by the official Fortnite account.
Both updates included a new character in front of the mysterious purple cube that left a wave of destruction across the map before eventually dissolving in Loot Lake. Together, they may also offer a clue of what to expect from Fortnite Season 6.
Based on these images it looks like we’ll get two new skins in Fortnite Season 6: a cyberpunk llama DJ and a Wild West outlaw. Some fans have also noted that each image shows one side of the cube. Assuming that this pattern holds, there could be four more new skins announced at the start of Season 6 to cover all six sides of the purple cube.
Fortnite Season 6 Leaks: New weapon skins
The game’s next big update could also add something new to Fortnite: weapon skins. Based on an earlier leak, it looks like Season 6 will introduce the option to customize how certain weapons look when you find them. The information comes from Fortnite data miner @FNBR_Leaks, who shared the following image on Twitter:
Presumably, you’ll have to unlock these weapon skins through the Battle Pass or pay for them directly with V-Bucks, but we won’t know for sure until the update hits.
Fortnite Season 6 Leaks: Pets? Vehicle decorations?
That same leak also revealed a few other possible additions to the game, including pets and vehicle decorations. That second one feels pretty self-explanatory too: Equip your decoration and the next time you find a golf kart it will feature a special design. At least, that seems like a distinct possibility for Season 6 of Fortnite
As for pets, we’re not really sure what to think. Maybe in Fortnite Season 6 you’ll be able to unlock a cute cat or dog to follow you around. Or maybe you’ll be able to tame wild animals in the game and use them against your enemies. Either option sounds a little farfetched, but thankfully we should know for sure pretty soon.
Update: A leak from the PlayStation Store (via FortniteInsider) seems to confirm that pets really are coming to the game. The leaked image shows that mysterious new Wild West outlaw skin, a guy riding a Fortnite supply llama, and (most importantly) that new DJ llama character with a cute little dog hanging off his back.
Yes, it looks like Fortnite Season 6 will include the option to unlock (or presumably purchase) pets that you can then carry around with you while you play. These are probably just cosmetic items — don’t expect your new pup to attack any enemies for you. Still, this is a pretty awesome update, and assuming the leaks are true we can’t wait to get a pet of our own when Season 6 hits on tomorrow.
Fortnite Season 6 starts on September 27.
