Here's Where to Find the New Week 9 'Fortnite' Road Trip Challenge Location
Is the Cube turning everyone evil?
The ongoing Road Trip Challenge for Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 5 could be turning apocalyptic.
Fortnite’s Week 9 kicked off Friday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern, and before long players uncovered the brand-new Road Trip Challenge loading screen. It’s one that might finally indicate the start of some broader plot that’ll launch us all into Season 6. The big Purple Cube has been an ominous presence for two weeks now, and now it’s front and center in the latest loading screen:
Highlighted against the cliff wall in the background is the faintest silhouette of a banner, which is exactly where players can find this secret in the game. Last week’s featured the Tomato King, but this one has the cryptic runes that the cube leaves behind, scorched into the grass. As always, the only way to acquire this banner is by completing all seven of the Week 9 Challenges first. (Good thing we have a comprehensive guide for that too.)
This exact spot is near where the purple cube stopped just east of the main river on the southern half of the map. The perspective featured above looks north towards the bridge.
If all those cardinal directions is a bit confusing, here’s a map indicating the location:
Players will have to build two ramps up to reach the secret banner before it materializes with the same audio cue as the Battle Stars. YouTuber Solace Entertainment also has an easy-to-follow, brief video walkthrough that can also help.
What could all of this mean for the end-game of Season 5? It’s tough to say, but it’s all but certain at this point that the infamous cube will play some role in reshaping the map for Season 6.
Fortnite Season 5 is scheduled to end on or around September 24, 2018.
