So. Many. Weapons.

Whether you know him as Doomguy, Doom Slayer, or just that dude from DOOM, there’s no denying that the unnamed monster-killing hero is a bonafide badass. Does that mean he deserves a spot in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster? If it were up to me (and probably a bunch of other video game fans) the answer would be yes.

Welcome to Roster Dreams, a special series from Inverse discussing some of the best fan-suggested additions to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster.

DOOM’s violent and bloody first-person-shooter gameplay might not be a perfect fit for Nintendo’s cartoonish fighter, but that didn’t stop Reddit user Glittertripper from dreaming up a full Smash Bros. moveset for the Doom Slayer. The character design draws equal inspiration from the DOOM games and the rest of the Smash Bros. roster, specifically Link and Falco.

That means plenty of weapons, but no decapitations. Doomguy’s Neutral B move is an energy shot similar to Falco’s, except that it can also charge. His Side B is a “combat explosive” that shoots out with a bit of an arc, while Up B recovery would use a rocket launcher to propel the character into the air. As for Down B, that’s a “frag grenade” similar to Link’s bombs in previous Smash games.

The cool thing about this Doomguy loadout is that it means the character would be packing a ton of weapons. Pretty much every special attack uses some different type of gun, making it easy to keep your enemies on their toes and fight them from afar. My only suggestion? Add in the Doom Slayer’s new wrist blade from Doom Eternal for close-quarters combat.
