'Fortnite' Leaks: New Velocity LTM Will Make Players Feel the Rush
Take to the skies to avoid the storm.
by Oscar GonzalezComing in a day late, Fortnite: Battle Royale’s v5.21 update went live Wednesday morning, and data miners went to work looking for new content in the game files. What they discovered was a new “Limited Time Mode” that will focus on verticality and speed.
Data miner @Fortnitee_Leaks found a new LTM called Velocity and the description for the mode says players will be able to re-deploy their gliders from large heights and find extra Impulse Grenades, Bounce Pads, and ATKs across the island. Those different pieces of equipment allow for players to quickly traverse the island, which is a very good thing as this new mode will include a storm that moves twice as fast.
Velocity is somewhat similar to the new LTM, as part of the v5.21 update, Soaring 50’s. In that mode, players have access to re-deploying gliders and similar equipment, but the difference is that it’s a 50v50 mode and the storm is not closing in at a quicker rate.
Along with the new Soaring 50’s LTM, Wednesday’s v5.21 update included a new version of the Sniper Shootout LTM. Unlike previous versions of the mode, this time there are only sniper rifles available including the newly released Heavy Sniper Rifle.
There is no date set when the Velocity LTM will go live in Fortnite: Battle Royale. In most cases, new modes go live within a week or two from the time the files are added to the game via an update, but there are a few modes that Epic Games doesn’t end up using.
The new Heavy Sniper Rifle is a true game-changer for Fortnite: Battle Royale. Its huge power can destroy structures with one shot leaving few places to hide towards the end of a match.
