'Pokemon GO' Community Day: Eevee Is the Last Resort for August

Cut my life into pieces.

July was a big month for Pokémon GO. Developer Niantic held the second-anniversary event for the game, and unlike the first-year party, this event went on with hardly any problems. But it’s back to business in August for Pokémon GO trainers with a new Community Day featuring a Pokémon everyone playing the game is familiar with.

Eevee is the featured Pokémon for August’s Pokémon GO Community Day. The popular, multi-evolving, Normal-type, adorable Pokémon will spawn in larger numbers during the special two-day event. Trainers will find plenty of Eevees, but there are other bonuses available during the Community Day.

The August Pokémon GO Community Day will take place on August 11-12 from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. on both days. During these three hours, players will receive three times the Stardust for catching a Pokémon and lures will last three hours.

The Eevees crawling all over the place during this event will have the move Normal-type move, Last Resort. This added move already has some people on Twitter complaining as they consider it to be useless, but the move can be handy when Eevee evolves. Unlike other Pokémon, Eevee has five different evolutions: Vaporean, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, and Umbreon. To get a certain elemental version of Eevee, trainers need to give it a particular name that matches with an element. Along with spawning enough Eevees to get all its evolutions, and then some, the increased spawn rate also means a chance of acquiring a Shiny version of the Pokémon.

Pokémon GO players will be up to their necks with Eevees when the Community Day kicks off on August 11 and starts up again on August 12.

For those who can’t have enough of Eevee, Nintendo will launch Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee in November for the Nintendo Switch. Gamers who aren’t fans can pick up the Pikachu version of the game instead.
