How Long Until 'Avengers 4' Comes Out? Let Marvel Depress You With the Answer
Half of the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are dead and they’re going to stay dead until Avengers 4 comes out, which won’t be for quite a while, as Marvel’s reminding us. Marvel’s official website has a countdown clock that’s ticking down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the still-untitled movie comes out. And, uh, it’s a while.
The clock, which you can check out on Marvel’s website right here, is pretty spartan. The URL is just “avengers-untitled,” so presumably, there will be a lot more information on the page once the movie has an official name. For now, though, it’s just a black background, the Avengers’ “A” logo, and the countdown.
When this post was first published, the countdown clock revealed that there are 272 days and a little more than 12 hours to go until Avengers 4’s May 3, 2019, release date.
That’s kind of wild, when you think about how many MCU movies there have been in the first half of 2018. Black Panther came out on February 16, and Avengers: Infinity War hit theaters just 70 days later. Ant-Man and the Wasp came out 70 days after that. However, there aren’t any more MCU movies this year, meaning there’s a 245-day gap between Ant-Man and the next movie, Captain Marvel, which opens on March 8, 2019. Avengers 4 is just a short wait after that. Spider-Man: Far From Home opens in July.
So, this seems to be Marvel’s pattern, for now. Front-load the year with three movies, and then leave audiences with an agonizing wait for the next installment, one that requires a comically lengthy countdown clock to measure.
But, hey — every second brings Spider-Man that much closer to coming back to life. C’mon, click the link to the countdown clock again! Maybe a minute or so has passed since you started reading this article?
