'Castlevania' Season 2 Netlifx Trailer Delivers on the Adi Shankar Hype
by Hannah Margaret AllenFinally, a year after Netflix released Castlevania Season 1 and immediately renewed the anime for a second season, executive producer Adi Shankar shares a blood-soaked, action-packed trailer for Castlevania Season 2.
In July 2017, when asked about the sophomore season of the show based on the Konami video game, Shankar told Inverse, “Season 2 is awesome. It’s just frickin’ awesome.”
Now fans have a glimpse of just how frickin’ awesome the eight-episode season — double the episode count of the first season — might actually be.
“My generals,” Count Dracula bellows 30 seconds into the trailer. “In killing my wife, humanity has proven to me that they don’t deserve the earth. We will scour them off the land.” And so the gory tale continues with vampire hunter Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades, and Alucard fighting a revenge-seeking Dracula.

Shankar premiered the trailer at AsiaPOP Comic-Con in Manila, where “the crowd went nuts”, and he posted the video on Adi Shankar’s Bootleg Universe, with this teasing caption: “We did not set the bar at ‘good enough’… We’re here to create the greatest videogame adaptation of all time. Who’s with us? PS if this receives enough comments, I’ll tell you guys if Grant is in it ;)”
While the first season of Castlevania was a pretty good indication, fans will have to wait until Netflix drops the second season on October 26 to see if the show delivers as the best video game adaptation of all time.
