Wanna save even more? Here's how.

by Catie Keck

Amazon Prime Day is now fully upon us, with the 36-hour event offering big savings on a wide array of products and services, including electronics, subscriptions, entertainment, and even eats. And with Amazon touting an extra six hours of deals this year, there are more than just a few ways to stay on top of some of the event’s most noteworthy offerings.

Offered exclusively to Prime members, this year’s event is Amazon’s fourth and longest event to date. During the event, sales across the site rival even November’s Black Friday, some reports have claimed. For those looking for extra savings during this year’s event, consider these four hacks for optimized shopping.

Prime Day Sneak Peek in the Amazon App

To make the most of Prime Day’s’s sneak peeks, Prime members need only download the free app. Don’t have the app already? Visit Amazon’s deals page to be sent an email link to download the app from your smartphone.

Shoppers can also use the app to score additional savings, the company said in a press release:

Simply open the app, tap on the camera icon, and try the AR View, Product Search, Barcode Scanner, or Package X-Ray feature to get an additional $5 off select Prime Day deals purchased through the app.

The above features can be used every six hours in-app over the course of the event for additional savings of $5, the company said.

Prime Day Deal Notifications

Bookmarking items ahead of when the when the sales begin is another way to ensure that shoppers are making the most of Prime Day. While in the app, Prime members can set notifications to get a heads up from Amazon when deals begin.

From the “Settings” menu, select “Notifications,,” and then enable “Personalized Notifications,” which will surface deals based on your shopping. Amazon also notes that Prime members can navigate to this page by searching “Sneak Peek” in-app.
