At this point, it’s no surprise that Ant-Man and the Wasp has post-credits scenes because, well, it’s part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A lack of post-credits scenes would be surprising, which is why it was (almost) a big deal that Avengers: Infinity War nearly ended without any. But, just as Infinity War eventually ended with a cliffhanger post-credits scene that had big implications for the future of the MCU, so too does Ant-Man and the Wasp.
There are no spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp, just a heads up about how many post-credits scenes to expect.
Ant-Man and the Wasp has two post-credits scenes, and unlike the ones in the first Ant-Man, these scenes are all-new. (Fans will remember that the second Ant-Man post-credits scene ended up being a scene from the then-unreleased Captain America: Civil War.)
The first scene, which comes midway through the credits, is the meatier of the two scenes, and it’s the movie’s only substantial connection to Avengers: Infinity War, which takes place after Ant-Man and the Wasp despite having been released a few months prior. The second scene, at the very end, is more of a stinger — a funny moment to end a very funny Marvel movie.
There will be tons of discussion and debate about what the first post-credits scene means for Avengers 4 and the future of the MCU, but for now, just take this as a reminder to sit tight when Ant-Man and the Wasp ends, because there’s more to come.
Oh, and after the last post-credits scene, there’s one more funny, potentially ominous moment. It’s not a scene, but keep an eye out for it.
Ant-Man and the Wasp opens on July 6.
