‘Fortnite' Playground LTM Will Give Players Their Own Private Island
Learn how to play in peace.
by Oscar GonzalezAfter multiple delays, Epic Games confirmed the new Playground mode will make its way to Fortnite, allowing players to practice the game without having to deal with 99 other opponents trying to eliminate them.
When Fortnite players logged into the game on Sunday, they saw a new update screen showing what’s coming to the game. At the top of the list was the Playground Limited Time Mode with the description saying, “Let your creativity run wild on your own private island.” First announced in May, Playground mode was Epic’s way of letting new players improve their Fortnite skills and practice with other players. The new mode will also let players build without having to worry about whether they will get blown up by someone with a rocket launcher.
“You have no idea how excited we all are to see the amazing things folks do with this mode,” said an Epic representative on the Fortnite subreddit. “We’re going to be paying very close attention and learning as much as we can so please make sure to share your thoughts and experiences as you try it out.”
On Thursday, Epic posted to its blog regarding the meta of Fortnite: Battle Royale. In the post, the developer mentioned how it wants to change the strategy to win a match so that it’s not a build-off between the few remaining players. Epic recently made changes to certain weapons like the shotgun and rocket launcher as well as the amount of resources players can accumulate throughout the match to the chagrin of some players.
Epic did not provide a specific date on when Playground Limited Time Mode will go live. Considering it was shown on Sunday, it could be added to the game on Tuesday when the developer updates the game.
Playground isn’t the only mode in development. Data miners found hidden codes for two new modes that will drastically change the game.
