'Super Smash Bros. Ultimate' Roster: 16 “New Characters” Get Stock Icon Art

Nintendo really needs to see this.

Instead of adding a bunch of brand new characters to the roster with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo brought back all the old, forgotten fighters from previous games. It’s an interesting change of pace for the popular fighting game, but not everyone is happy with the company’s decision.

Rumor has it Nintendo could still have plans to add a handful of new characters to the *Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” roster. So don’t give out hope yet if your favorite video game character (Waluigi or otherwise) didn’t make it. It might still happen.

With that in mind, one Super Smash Bros. fan, u/schlaacka, shared their designs for 16 potential additions to the Ultimate roster. Specifically, this gorgeous art shows what the stock icon (that little image next to each character’s damage percentage during a match) for those theoretical new characters might look like.

The list includes Waluigi (of course), along with Tetra (The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker), Rex (Xenoblade), Twintelle (Arms), Impa (the Zelda series), Dry Bowser (Mario), King K. Rool (Donkey Kong), Shovel Knight (Shovel Knight), Steve (Minecraft), Captain Toad (Mario) and more. It’s obviously a pretty ambitious list, and you definitely shouldn’t expect all of these characters to show up in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate* anytime soon (or at all, to be honest). And

And while we’re making completely unreasonable requests I’d like to add Madeline from Celeste and a Fortnite character to the game (you can read my reasoning for those here).

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches on December 7 for Nintendo Switch.
