'Pokemon GO' June Community Day: Start Time, Locations, Rewards, and More
This is your chance to catch the best Rock-type Pokémon in the game.
It’s Community Day, y’all. That means Pokémon GO players will have a much greater chance to catch Larvitar, the star of the June Community Day event.
Larvitar may not look like much on its own, but he can evolve into the mighty Tyranitar, a Rock/Dark-type Pokémon who is classified as a pseudo-legendary Pokémon. As with previous Community Days, players will receive additional bonuses during the event. You’ll earn triple the amount of experience when catching a Pokémon and lures will last for three hours.
Pokemon GO June Community Day: Start Time
The event begins on June 16 and will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern. Niantic started hosting Community Days to encourage teamwork and new friendship, so you can partner up with your buddies or find new ones through fan networks like The Silph Road.
Pokemon GO June Community Day: Locations
For this event? Anywhere. Larvitar won’t be picky, but it usually spawns in parks, nature preserves, and any place with a lot of flat greenery, like golf courses. Just make sure wherever you’re going is a public area.
Pokemon GO June Community Day: Rewards
Niantic hasn’t announced any Shiny skins for Larvitar, but this is par for the course. All the previous Community Day featured Shiny versions of the starring Pokémon without any prior notice, and I’d feel bad for our little buddy Larvitar if it skipped out on a nice makeover. Expect to see Shiny skins for Larivtar and its evolved forms, Pupitar and Tyranitar.
Players who catch a Larvitar and level it up all the way to Tyranitar will also receive a new move exclusive to the event, Smack Down. You probably want to get on that because a Tyranitar with Smack Down is projected to be the most powerful Rock-type Pokémon in the game.
If you smell what the Larvitar is cookin’ show up on June 16 for your chance to catch the best Rock-type Pokémon in the game.
