'Legends of Tomorrow' Season 4 Spoilers: Another Major Hero Is Leaving

by Corey Plante

At some point early in Season 4, Wally West will say goodbye to the rest of the Waverider crew on Legends of Tomorrow.

TVLine reported on Tuesday that actor Keiynan Lonsdale who plays Wally West, aka Kid Flash, in the Arrowverse, was demoted from series regular on Legends of Tomorrow for the upcoming Season 4. TVLine does confirm that Lonsdale will appear in The Flash Season 5 premiere, but beyond that the future of Kid Flash in the Arrowverse seems somewhat uncertain.

Lonsdale was originally added to Legends of Tomorrow in January 2018 as a series regular, and he played a prominent role in the back-half of Season 3. Many fans saw him as a welcome addition, especially because the fan-favorite character didn’t have much of a role on The Flash anymore.

Most recently, Wally reappeared in The Flash Season 4 finale to welcome his newborn half-sister into the West household, and he made a brief cameo as the Mystery Girl revealed herself to be Nora West-Allen from the future:

The Flash has a history of being somewhat crowded with its speedsters, which is probably why Wally was sidelined for the “Crisis on Earth-X” crossover event. Considering the fact that Nora West-Allen is also a speedster that’ll have a huge role in The Flash Season 5, it’s unlikely that Wally will hang around in Central City, even if he has a new baby sister.

Maybe Wally could find a new home in Gotham, which will supposedly be integrated into the greater Arrowverse in the upcoming season? Maybe he’ll bounce around different shows or even pop up over on Arrow?

A much more morbid possibility will be that Wally could wind up killed by The Flash Season 5 villain. After all, in other mediums, the character does wind up dead eventually.

We’ll know for sure when The Flash Season 5 debuts sometime around October 2018.
