'Solo' Spoilers: 'Star Wars: Battlefront 2' DLC Implies Jabba Will Appear

by Corey Plante

A new season of content for Star Wars: Battlefront II is coming to celebrate the impending release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, and it’s taking players to Jabba’s Palace on Tattooine. Could that mean the Hutt might appear in the prequel movie as well?

On Wednesday, EA announced that the Solo season would kick off the following week: “The fun begins on May 16 with a trip back to the original trilogy before jumping into new content for June inspired by the forthcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story film — but more on that later,” EA Star Wars announcement. That “trip back to the original trilogy” means that Jabba’s Palace will become a playable map. EA is saving the real “new content” for after Solo releases later in May. But of all places, why include Jabba’s Palace? Could it simply be because it’s the last Han Solo-related destination that isn’t already in the game, or is there a subtle Solo spoiler in the works here?

Previous set photo leaks for Solo confirmed that part of the action takes place on some kind of desert planet, which led many to speculate that the film could see Han go to Tatooine. Pretty much every trailer shows Han on a desert planet, but we can’t be sure what planets those are just yet. Paul Bettany’s villainous Dryden Vos — described as a “bigshot gangster” — seems to operate on some kind of desert planet. Han also faces off against Enfys Nest on a desert planet. Could this planet be Tatooine all along? Could Jabba the Hutt be in direct competition with Dryden Vos?

We know we’ll see Han meet Lando and Chewbacca for the first time ever in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but could we also see him meet Jabba for the first time ever?

Jabba will probably show up in 'Solo', right?

The May 16 Battlefront II update also includes a Hero Showdown game mode, that’s essentially two-versus-two gameplay, so you can go Han Solo and Chewbacca versus Boba Fett and Bossk or even something more adventurous like Yoda and Rey versus Darth Maul and Darth Vader.
