Why 'Fortnite's' Dance in Front of Cameras Challenge Is One of Its Best Yet
Go out there and bust a move.
Most of the Weekly Challenges on Fortnite: Battle Royale consist of the finding a certain number of chests in an area, going to a certain location, or eliminating opponents with specific weapons. Who would have guessed that dancing in front of cameras for the Week 2 Challenge would be one of the hardest challenges to complete?
The theme for Fortnite Season 4 is “Blockbuster,” and across the maps are cameras just waiting for players to show up and do a little dance in front of them. It sounds easy, but some players are having some trouble completing the challenge, which is causing a bit of frustration. It’s also causing a rush of excitement, unlike other challenges.
What’s frustrating players who want to bust a move on camera is how vulnerable they are when dancing. Emotes are for taunting opponents or celebrating. When dancing, players are left wide open to be taken out. It also doesn’t help that the cameras are located in mainly open areas near some heavy traffic spots on the island such as Tomato Town, Greasy Grove, and Dusty Divot. This makes for being easy targets for other players.
On the other hand, this particular challenge has its own thrill to it. The 10 camera locations are all over the map, which means players will have to plan accordingly if they want to complete the challenge. It’s also a rush to do a quick dance and run the hell away before getting shot at. There’s also the point that there are plenty of dance moves to choose from, including the new Orange Justice emote, which is a tribute to the “Kid in the Orange Shirt.”
Fortunately for fans, Fortnite players do not have to complete this dancing challenge before the Week 3 Challenges come out. They’ll have until the end of the season to complete it and receive the 10 Battle Stars.
One tip for players looking to get jiggy with it on camera is to play with a squad, in hopes that they can watch each others’ backs, or load up the new “Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup” mode. In the new mode, almost all players are on a search for the Infinity Gauntlet, so dancing is a little easier to do — but watch out for Thanos.
