Spock's Son Married Dax IRL on a Historically Significant Star Trek Day
Spock’s son has married Jadzia Dax. It’s not an astounding new bit of Star Trek canon, though, it’s just that Adam Nimoy, the son of the late Leonard Ninoy, has married Deep Space Nine actress Terry Farrell. And, the pair tied the knot on what would have been Leonard Nimoy’s 87th birthday.
Nimoy and Farrell, who made their relationship public at last year’s Star Trek Las Vegas convention and got engaged shortly afterward, were married on March 26, 2018 in a civil ceremony in San Francisco. The two are Star Trek royalty, of a sort. In addition to being Spock’s son, Adam Nimoy directed two episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation and was an assistant director on Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Ferrell, meanwhile, played Jadzia Dax, a Trill science officer on six seasons of Deep Space Nine.
Film critic Scott Mantz broke the news of the pair’s marriage when he shared a photo on Twitter, and Ferrell happy chimed in to call herself “Mrs. Adam Nimoy,” calling it a “freakin AWESOME day!!!!!!!”
Once the honeymoon’s over, Nimoy will presumably get back to work on a documentary he’s making about Deep Space Nine for the show’s 25th anniversary. Titled What We Left Behind, the documentary will look at one of the quirkier iterations of the Star Trek franchise, complete with lots of interviews from the show’s cast, including Ferrell. More information about the film can be found on its Indiegogo page.
Here’s hoping Nimoy and Ferrell live long and prosper.
