Do Elon Musk's Recent Tweets Show Signs of an Existential Crisis?

You good, bro?

It’s not hard to be a fan of Elon Musk. The guy wants to travel to Mars, develop high-speed travel between major cities, and make electric cars ubiquitous. But what the hell is going on with his late night tweets?

Musk has written two random tweets in the past 24 hours, seemingly apropos of nothing that make virtually no sense. One tweet said: “And they said I’d never be a rock star…” The other touted a bit of wisdom from his mother, Maye Musk, saying: “From my Mom: every time I use irony, I lose a friend.”

Although the first tweet comes off a bit Kanye West-esque in its apparent self-reverence, Musk may have been trying to spit some bars. Looking at his previous tweet that he was replying to, there appears to be a bit of a rhyme:

Rated for California seismic loads
So super strong
But Bored in the middle
Like an aircraft wing spar,
So not heavy.
And they said I’d never be a rock star…

Not the dopest rap out there, but not bad for the founder of Tesla, SpaceX, and The Boring Company.

As for his next tweet, one might assume it was borne of some late night stream-of-conscious tweeting (it happens to the best of us). Musk has been known to take to Twitter following some red wine and Ambien — which, it’s worth stating here, is not a healthy combination by any stretch of the imagination.

Hopefully, whatever motivated Musk to share these tweets will not interfere with the big plans he has in store for the future of the human race.
