Porsche released two new videos of its Mission E Cross Turismo on Tuesday, soon after revealing the electric car at the Geneva Motor Show. The sports utility vehicle looks set to give serious competition to the Tesla Model X, with incredible design both inside and outside.
The company has designed the Mission E Cross Turismo with ultra-fast recharge in mind. The 800-volt architecture means the car can charge in just 15 minutes for another 250 miles of range. It also has an ultra-fast acceleration time of 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, reaching speeds of 125 mph in 12 seconds.
One of the things you’ll notice in these videos is the space-age interior. Porsche has mixed the instrument cluster of yesteryear with the all-touch stylings of the Tesla Model 3, producing a driver control set that looks like something straight out of the future. The console uses eye tracking to judge which control the driver needs most, bringing it to the foreground and pushing the others back.

In the exterior, the Mission E Cross Turismo features glass letters with a circuit design. The “E” lights up when charging and the back pulses with light, while a glass roof from windshield to trunk makes it look like a giant gadget.
Porsche isn’t the only electric SUV vying for dominance. Audi’s E-Tron, on display at the same show in Geneva, has gone through rigorous testing ahead of its launch in Europe later this year. Polestar, the Volvo Car Group’s new brand, is also set to release its first SUV in the coming years. These will face competition from both the Tesla Model X and Model Y, an entry-level version of the X akin to the Model 3.
Porsche will have to fight hard to push the Mission E Cross Turismo as a luxury vehicle. With Morgan Freeman’s limo company using the Model X to ferry passengers to award ceremonies, it’s not the only player in town.
