A Redditor who says he received a casting email for Game of Thrones — but didn’t get the part — shared the details of just what a King’s Landing flasher needs: A willingness to shout in a queen’s face and normal genitalia: no piercings or “genetic abnormalities.” Boogie Nights this ain’t.
The scene in which the 25-to-50-year-old Caucasian exhibitionist does his thing is, spoilers, Cersei Lannister’s grueling walk of shame in the season five finale of Game of Thrones. But it wasn’t Lena Headey who made the walk — body double and actress Rebecca Van Cleave was chosen from a pool of more than 1,000 applicants.
“It was one of the scariest, most wonderful, most gratifying experiences I could have imagined,” the actress told Entertainment Weekly. “I never in a million years would have thought I would be in Dubrovnik [where the scene was filmed] surrounded by hundreds of extras and crew members throwing food at me, but it was amazing.”
No word on where this scene ranks in the Lannister Flasher’s life experiences, but we’re glad he’s comfortable with his perfectly normal self, too.
