Who Will Win Indianapolis Colts vs. Baltimore Ravens? A.I. Predicts
Baltimore looks to make its playoff move.
The Baltimore Ravens have strung together some victories and stand on the brink of making the playoffs as a wild card contender. The Indianapolis Colts are just ready for it all to be over. A hive mind of about 30 NFL fans predicts the Ravens will win Sunday.
This is a game rich with historical context, mostly of the fandom-destroying variety. The Colts infamously moved from Baltimore to Indianapolis in the dead of night, while their eventual Maryland replacement, the Ravens, emerged by moving the Browns from Cleveland — although, thanks to some complicated legalities, the Ravens aren’t the old Browns, the new Browns are. Anyway, the Baltimore Ravens have looked bad some weeks but have looked good in enough other games that they could be plenty terrifying in the playoffs as the number six. Beating the Colts is the first step to getting there.

To predict the result of this and other games, Unanimous A.I. used what’s known as swarm intelligence to forecast the week’s slate. About 30 NFL fans worked together as a hive mind to make picks. As you can see in the animation below, each participant controlled a little golden magnet and used it to drag the puck toward the answer they thought was the most likely outcome. As the users saw the puck move toward a particular outcome, it triggers a psychological response. They readjust their decision-making, building toward a consensus. Unanimous A.I. has made some scarily accurate predictions in the past using swarm intelligence, as our previous article explains. For instance, the swarm went a perfect 7-0 in its most recommended picks for an English Premier League slate earlier this season.
For Saturday’s game, the hive mind predicts the Ravens to win with high confidence. It’s a pick made with a whopping 98 percent brainpower.
The swarm predicts the margin of victory will be seven to nine points, a pick made with 85 percent brainpower. That margin is quite a bit less than the Vegas line of Baltimore by 13.5 points.
The game kicks off 4:30 p.m. Eastern Saturday on the NFL Network.
