One 'Star Wars' Actor Attended 'Last Jedi' Premiere and Fans are Losing It
Search your feelings…do you want to know something about The Last Jedi this close to it coming out? If not, it might be best to turn away from the spoiler path now. The following is in no way confirmed, but based on a certain actor showing up on the red carpet for the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, one classic character might totally be making an apppearnce.
Possible spoilers follow. However, this might turn out not to mean what it seems to mean.
On Saturday, voice actor and famed puppeteer, Frank Oz attended the red carpet Los Angeles premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This is not a secret in any way shape or form. In fact, Mark Hamil even openly joked on Twitter that Oz’s presence could be construed as a “spoiler” for the plot of the film.
But, what if Mark Hamill isn’t joking? What if the presence of Frank Oz means what fans think it means? If you’re slow on the connection here, we’ll spell it out: Frank Oz invented Yoda and played his voice in The Empire Strikes Back and all the Star Wars films Yoda appeared in subsequent to that. So, if Oz is chilling with the cast and crew of The Last Jedi, it seems like Yoda might actually be in the movie, either in a flashback or appearing, sweetly as a Force Ghost.
If this is true, it would be the first time in a Star Wars movie that Yoda’s ghost will have actually said anything from beyond his the gravee grave. What will he have to say? Wait and see, we shall!
Then again, maybe Frank Oz was just showing up on the red carpet to watch a great Star Wars movie and isn’t involved in the film at all. Would you pass up the opportunity to see a Star Wars movie premiere? Would you pass up the opportunity to see a Star Wars movie premiere?
