Information about Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man spinoff about one of his more extreme foes, [Veno](/topic/venom)m, has been slow to trickle out. We’re not even sure if Spidey’s going to be in it, but at least the studio and star Tom Hardy are rolling out [a steady stream of moody set photos](https://www.inverse.com/article/37704-venom-movie-tom-hardy-photos) to keep fans interest piqued. The latest photo doesn’t show a fully costumed Venom, but it does appear to show where he hangs out. And, more importantly, we actually get to see Hardy’s entire face.
The black and white photo popped up on the Venom movie’s official Twitter account on Friday afternoon. The picture appears to be a selfie of Hardy reclining on set with a little bit of gear in the background. The caption simply reads “home,” along with the #Venom hashtag. the Venom movie’s official Twitter account on Friday afternoon. It’s possible that Hardy has just become so comfortable filming Venom that the entire set is his home, but it seems more likely that we’re getting a peek at Eddie Brock’s apartment. Seems a little industrial, but nice enough. Chances are he’ll trash the place once he’s infected with the Venom symbiote.
The most interesting thing about the picture, though, is Tom Hardy’s entire face. Hardy is a huge, charismatic star, but he’s notorious for taking roles that cover up most of his face — see The Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Dunkirk for examples. Unless Venom gets a totally new costume, he’s probably going to wear some sort of face-obscuring mask again. At least he’s posing for these set photos.
In addition to Hardy, Venom will also star Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, and Reid Scott. So far, it’s just been pictures of Hardy on the official Twitter account, though.
Venom, from director Ruben Fleischer, is scheduled to come out in October 2018.
