‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Unexpectedly Confirms Who the Strongest Avenger Is

Thor and the Hulk fight in Thor: Ragnarok, with the God of Thunder seemingly coming out a bit worse for wear. But, just in case there was any doubt as to who the strongest Avenger currently is, a surprising source in the film weighs in.

In a new clip Marvel Entertainment tweeted on Thursday, a spaceship makes the call on who holds the title of strongest Avenger. Thor tries to get access to the ship by identifying himself as “Thor,” “God of Thunder,” “Prince of Asgard,” and “Strongest Avenger,” all of which are denied. Bruce Banner then gives it a shot with “Banner,” prompting the ship to say “Welcome, strongest Avenger.” Confused, Thor says “Uhhh…what?”

Since the ship has Bruce Banner and supposedly Thor’s voice on file, it’s probably the Quinjet Hulk was seen flying off in toward the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Even if for some reason it’s not, though, it’s funny to see the film play up the friendly rivalry Thor and Hulk have had since they went toe-to-toe in the first Avengers film. Who knows what will happen when Captain Marvel, who Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige calls “the strongest character we’ve ever had,” enters the picture?

Thor: Ragnarok comes out on November 3 in the US.
