How to Make a Poll in Your Instagram Story
Slide out of her DMs and into her ... polls.
Remember the age-old adage, “Don’t ask questions you don’t want answers to?” Well, a new, interactive Instagram sticker is putting that wisdom to the test as it allows you to poll your followers within your Instagram stories.
While it’s a new level of fun to be able to ask your friends, “Should I just eat this entire pizza by myself and stay home tonight: yes or no?” keep in mind that the answers you get back will not be anonymous. As your followers vote by selecting their preference, you’ll get live results of what they think about your query. In other words, be careful what you wish for.
With that in mind, to use the sticker, just create a story the way you normally would, and then scroll through the stickers to find “Poll” (currently located in the second row of options on the right). You can write out your poll question and also customize the answers.
As the answers start coming in, you can swipe into a story’s viewers list to see who answered your question and how.
On the other side of the equation, once you’ve participated in a poll the story will change so that you can also see what percentage of fellow followers agreed with you. If you check back on the same story, it will also show updated percentages on the poll.
Yet another cool contribution from Instagram as it works to improve its stories and encourages more direct interaction within the feature.
