That Horror Movie That Made Everyone Pass Out Is Now on Netflix
'Raw' is now streaming on Netflix.
Cannibalism was all the rage at 2016’s various film festivals. And, now, Netflix is here to help you understand what everyone was so worked up about. Raw, the award-winning horror movie that famously made audiences at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival pass out, went up on Netflix on Wednesday. Now’s your chance to stream Raw in all its gory glory.
Raw tells the story of Justine (Garance Marillier), a life-long vegetarian forced to eat raw rabbit kidney during a veterinarian school hazing ritual. Soon enough, she develops an insatiable hunger for, uh, all kinds of raw meat and discovers that her family’s past holds dark secrets.
The film, noted for its graphic portrayal of Justine’s bloodlust, won the FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) Prize at the 2016 Cannes International Film Festival and boasts a 90 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Even setting critical approval aside, Raw is popularly considered one of the best horror films of the year, weaving a darkly sexual story into a horrific, modern fairytale.
There’s a good chance you won’t be able to look away.
Raw is now available to stream on Netflix.*
