The “geeky younger brother” of the original Star Trek series, Star Trek: The Next Generation is celebrating its 30-year anniversary in 2017. So, of course, the team over at Honest Trailers had to give the series its own hilarious trailer.
Best known for ripping movies and television shows to shreds, the Honest Trailer for TNG actually goes pretty light on the hate — probably because most Trekkies are more than willing to acknowledge just how ridiculous Star Trek is. That’s what they like about it.
According to the trailer, TNG is the “geeky younger brother, featuring new aliens, more complex stories, and acting that’s way better than Star Trek deserve,” and a “kinder, gentler sequel where crew members discuss their feelings, celebrate each others’ cultures, and fight with their words, not their fists.”
The best part of the trailer by far, though, is Worf’s list of “Klingon fun facts,” including: “Klingons do not laugh; Klingons do not surrender; Klingons do not procrastinate; Klingons do not allow themselves to be… probed.”
